WCDC’s Youth Mini-Grants Accepting Applications
Each spring, Wilkinsburg Community Development Corporation (WCDC) hosts its annual Youth Mini-Grant Program to provide funds to local organizations that support the academic and civic endeavors of Wilkinsburg youth. Thanks to support from the Howard & Nell E. Miller Foundation, TriState Capital Bank, Highmark, and Dollar Bank, the WCDC is able to provide grants of up to $3,000 to Wilkinsburg organizations for summer youth activities.
“Youth-focused programs play a vital role in the fabric of the Wilkinsburg community, especially during after-school hours and throughout the summer,” emphasized Tracey Evans, Executive Director of WCDC. “Over the past decade, we’ve witnessed the transformative impact of these initiatives. We’re delighted to continue our support by offering mini-youth grants to another round of deserving organizations. Together, we can empower and uplift our young people, ensuring a brighter future for Wilkinsburg.”
Now, in its 14th year, the WCDC has provided over $100,000 in support to 25 organizations, reaching more than 3,000 youths who participate in local summer and after school programs.
In 2023, WCDC funded seven groups and supported hundreds of children in the Wilkinsburg area. Grant recipients include:
- Creative Balance 4 Empowering People | Rhythmic Movement Through Arts
- Creative Kidz | Summer Arts Program
- Ethan Temple | Summer Enrichment Program
- Grow Pittsburgh | Urban Farmers in Training

- Meshwork Press | Growing Creative Entrepreneurs
