Focus Areas for Neighborhood Planning

Through the completion of the Seeking Solutions report and outreach efforts, three neighborhoods expressed strong interest in continuing the process to develop more specific neighborhood plans and implement some of the ideas that were conceptually developed.

Over the past few years, resident groups from each neighborhood have been working to improve their communities by addressing vacant properties, creating and improving community spaces, and bringing together their neighbors to identify where change is needed. 

Neighborhood planning is not just about physical infrastructure; it’s about cultivating a shared vision, fostering collaboration, and empowering individuals to shape the future of their community.

Neighborhood Planning Groups

Hamnett Place

Championing the needs of Hamnett Place’s residents and promoting public safety and blight reduction, attractive public spaces and home ownership, and unification against predatory development

Park Triangle

Fostering community conservation, encouraging resident participation in neighborhood decisions, and developing revitalization projects in the Park Triangle neighborhood

Singer Place

Centered around stabilizing and renovating key vacant properties while promoting Wilkinsburg as a safe, supportive community whose residents believe in a better future
