What We Do

Art All Over

Art All Over

Our Art All Over initiative launched in 2020 following the completion of our Lohr Building restoration, which included the 1,300 square foot, street-level Lohr Gallery space at 725 Wood Street in Wilkinsburg. The Lohr Gallery opened up the opportunity to create a dedicated space to feature artworks from local artists and makers and provide an arts-focused public space in the heart of Wilkinsburg – a longtime goal of the WCDC and our community.

During the first year of Art All Over, we partnered with the Wilkinsburg-based Sleeping Octopus Arts Initiative to curate four shows at the gallery. Featured work in the inaugural series included a range of artistic mediums, from painting to printmaking and quilting – all by Wilkinsburg-based artists and makers.

Following a successful first series despite pandemic restrictions, we forged a partnership with Casey Droege Cultural Productions (CDCP) to manage Art All Over moving forward. Our first series with CDCP during 2021-22 included four eight-week shows featuring four local artists and makers. These shows engaged nearly 200 Wilkinsburg residents and visitors during Saturday gallery hours and resulted in the sale of 20 pieces of artwork sold to support local artists.

Our second season with CDCP during 2022-23 featured local painter Ashante Josey, youth makers from the Wilkinsburg & Braddock Youth Projects, graphic artist Bahirah, a special show featuring youth artists from Pittsburgh Urban Christian School, and fiber artist Megan Adgate. By increasing our budget for the current series, CDCP brought on local artist, Naomi Chambers, to lead free community workshops centered on each featured artist.

We’re thrilled to present our 2023-24 season in partnership with CDCP. Below are the artists that will be featured over the next year.
