September 26, 2015: Wilkinsburg needs a shot, some of its business proponents say.
Since residents voted to lift an 80-year ban on retail alcohol sales in May, some wonder if it will boost the borough’s struggling business district.
“We’re hoping. This is new territory for us,” said Salvatore Di Pasquale, who co-owns Salvatore’s Pizza House. The establishment started selling beer, wine and cocktails Tuesday with the borough’s first liquor license.
