January 14, 2015: Wilkinsburg has been accepted into the Pennsylvania Downtown Center’s Main Street Program. A program of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Main Street designation is expected to make Wilkinsburg, a township just east of the city, eligible for a broad range of state support.
