About the Event
On May 30, 2020, the Wilkinsburg Community Development Corporation (WCDC) will put on their first “Party at the Train Station” fundraiser. The gala will commemorate the historic revival of the 100+ year-old historic landmark. Vacant for over 50 years, the grand revival represents both the celebration of this incredible feat and the promise of future progress for East End’s next “big neighborhood.”
This year’s “Bold Arrival” theme pays tribute to the CDC’s realized vision of revitalizing one of the region’s most historic business districts. Two landmark buildings — formerly vacant for a combined 50 years — represent a $9 million investment that will bring over 20,000 square feet of office or commercial space back to the market. Private investors are taking note! Since 2010, nearly $100 million in private and public dollars have been invested in the Wilkinsburg community. Enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, Prohibition-era craft cocktails, music and surprises and be the first to experience the Train Station’s grand re-arrival!
Suggested dress code:
Take yourself back to 1916, when traveling by train meant putting on the best in your closet. Black-tie optional.
