Passing down property is a key way to build generational wealth and one of the leading causes property abandonment is the lack of an enforceable estate plan.

That’s why the WCDC partners with local attorneys to assist Wilkinsburg residents and property owners with estate planning and deed transfers, free of cost.

Through Strong Legacies, the WCDC also works to address heirs’ property issues by assisting the recording of deeds for ownership transition. The program aligns with the Pennsylvania Housing Action Plan’s goal to establish funding for legal services for low-income residents to resolve tangled titles or heirs’ property issues.
