January 15, 2016: Eugenia Moore of Wilkinsburg describes herself as “a busy-type of person” who has always “been interested in what’s going on in my community.” That could explain why she is involved in a host of local organizations in addition to serving as vice president of Wilkinsburg council last year. A nurse for more than 40 years, Ms. Moore most recently worked with the UPMC transplant unit. She is currently taking time off from her job to care for her 93-year-old mother. Ms. Moore, 68, has been active in Wilkinsburg for the nearly 30 years she has lived there, moving to the borough from Pittsburgh in 1986.
