The Wilkinsburg Community Development Corporation (WCDC) is embarking on its next strategic planning process, which will guide the organization’s priorities from 2026 to 2031. Building on the success of its 2019-2025 strategic plan, the WCDC is seeking input from residents, businesses, and stakeholders to shape the future of Wilkinsburg. This new plan will address key community needs, enhance the Central Business District, and ensure that Wilkinsburg remains a vibrant and inclusive community.
The comprehensive process includes community engagement, research, and strategy development. This is where you come in—your voice matters in shaping the next chapter of Wilkinsburg’s growth. Whether you’re a resident, business owner, or community leader, your input will help define the WCDC’s focus on issues like economic development, neighborhood revitalization, and business support.
As of October 2024, engagement has included:
- Residents through the Strong Neighborhoods Committee
- Some Borough Council members
- Wilkinsburg School District Superintendent
- A group of small business owners
- A group of developers and investors
- Residents at a Resource Fair
- Other prominent developers and investors not yet engaged in Wilkinsburg
- WCDC staff and board members
- WCDC Holding Company board members
