June 19, 2015: The local chapter of a group that goes by the name “Mad Dads” will hold its ninth celebration of fatherhood from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Ferguson Playground in Wilkinsburg.
The organization’s full name is Men Against Destruction Defending Against Drugs and Social Disorder. It was founded in 1989 by a group of parents from Omaha, Neb., who were concerned about gang violence and drug use in their community. The Greater Pittsburgh Area chapter has been in existence since 2006.
